Luke Arnett joined Talent84 in April 2022 as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, now he’s settled in: it’s time to get to know a bit more about him.
Tell us a bit about yourself
“I’m just a nice and genuine guy really.
Before making the move into recruitment, I had spent the past 9 years in the Engineering and Manufacturing industry.
I am currently working as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant specialising in the Technical & Engineering Division.
I’m looking to transfer my knowledge and experience from my previous roles into the Recruitment Industry .”
What was it that attracted you to recruitment?
“When I decided I needed a new challenge, I assessed the skills I had gained in my previous roles to see what my strengths were and what I enjoyed working in. My communication skills seemed to come up the most frequently, whether with clients/customers or internally with colleagues.
After looking at a range of different roles and speaking with friends who work in the industry, I found recruitment was something I was keen to explore.”
How’ve you found your first few weeks at Talent84?
“My first few weeks have been a big adjustment period. I have found it very interesting working alongside some excellent and very experienced Consultants and support staff.
Having to learn how to use new systems effectively has been rather informative and helped me understand how the business works. I am looking forward to growing within the company and building my own client base for the future.”
What are your initial thoughts on the jobs market in 2022?
“Being new to recruitment, I have learned very quickly just how much of an ultra competitive and reactive industry recruitment is.
The market can fluctuate with demand for candidates from one week to another, got to keep on your toes.”
