1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer, Teesside
Salary circa £25,000
My client is a national, family run business and they have an immediate requirement for a 1st and 2nd line support technician. Currently in the IT department especially, they are at an exciting time, as they’re investing heavily in IT infrastructure and software and are currently involved with a number of projects.
As part of their hybrid IT Team based in Teesside, reporting to the IT supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for 1st/2nd line escalated support calls, network and telecoms and VoIP Support. You will be required to investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues relating to Desktop, Server and Network devices and business operations. This will include hardware and software issues which may require reconfiguring or upgrading, and you must demonstrate an understanding of these devices and related software.
You will be conversant with all aspects of Windows Server 2003 – 2016, Active Directory, Group Policy. You will have knowledge of Windows operating systems in addition to experience with all aspects of both local and wide-area networks, using TCP / IP infrastructure.
Criteria:
- Network skills – LAN/WAN, SD WAN, 4G
- Wi-Fi Maintenance (Meraki, Unifi)
- MS Office standalone and, O365
- Windows Desktop Support
- Desktop and Laptop build and Hardware Maintenance
- Machine Rollout, and asset handling
- Ability to work with outside vendors.
- Must project a positive, friendly professional image on the phone and in person when on customer sites.
- Travel to different sites as and when required.
- Must have excellent documentation skills.
- Must be flexible in their approach to travel and projects undertaken.
- Managing ticket queues and priorities
- Solid experience working in a helpdesk environment
