Quality Engineer

About the Role

My client are a leading international engineering and manufacturing organisation with a true global foot print, working from their Newcastle operation, my client seeks a Quality Engineer to join the team.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintenance and implementation of site quality systems
• Maximising supplier quality approval rates/satisfaction levels
• Working directly with internal and external stakeholders to overcome Quality Control issues
• Assist/contribute to improvements where applicable and drive and support the implementation of the continuous improvement efforts throughout the operation
• Lead and work closely with other team members and team  to ensure company wide adherence to the highest standards of quality standards.
• Working with other client manufacturing sites across the globa and will require travel to those sites on an ‘as needed’ basis.

About you

To be considered for the role, it is essential that you posses demonstrable experience gained as a Quality Engineer, working within a manufacturing setting.  Key selection criteria includes:

• HNC/HND/Degree in engineering discipline
• Experience of managing ISO9001:2015 management systems
• Continuous improvement implementation expertise
• Audit experience
• Happy to travel , including internationally, once a quarter for a period of c. 1 week.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team to achieve common objectives.
• Ability to scrutinise and evaluate information to ensure that all data is correct.
• Methodical and structured approach to solving problems.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft packages.
• Understanding of Quality tools, e.g. FMEA, PPAP, APQP etc.
• ISO9001 lead auditor
