Main Purpose of Role:

Ensuring that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and Reliably.

Key Tasks:

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Diagnosing faults
  • Repairing equipment
  • Supervising engineering/technical apprentices
  • Updating and recording/logging site assets
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and safety legislation
  • Creating maintenance works procedures
  • Managing stock of spare parts and equipment
  • Out of hours call out

As a member of the maintenance department you will work both alone or as part of a team.

This role is best suited to a person who can work in a busy environment and have clear communication capabilities. A moderate level of fitness will be required as day-to-day works may include the use of ladders; also, the maintenance area is currently situated on a first floor.

Required is an upbeat and self-motivated individual who enjoys working with others to realize the potential as well as maintain a business.

There will be a requirement to work two Saturdays in the calendar month (provided there is a first- aider on site). The terms of the Saturdays will be discuss at the interview stage.

As part of the engineering team, it is likely you will have access to site keys in the unlikely event of site call outs, or the need to allow access for service providers. My client has multiple sites and should the need arise you may be required to support other engineering departments.

Successful candidates will be able to maintain qualifications. Further to this, other training opportunities may become available.

Key Requirements for Role:

  • Able to work both as an effective team member, and independently using initiative to problem solve
  • Competent with Excel ,word and PowerPoint Microsoft tools
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to project company values

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Prior experience in similar roles (manufacturing)
  • Experience in asset management
  • A fundamental knowledge of following :

Hydraulic systems , pneumatic system, electrical and software systems

  • A full valid UK driving license

Non-essential:

  • The latest electrical additions /regulations UK ( 17th/18th industrial)
  • Base level mechatronics
  • Siemens software experience PLCs 5-7
