Job Description 

My client has forged a global reputation for the manufacture and supply of electrical building technology for the construction industry. 

About the role 

The Estimating Manager will be responsible for handling all incoming product enquiries . Taking the time to ensure full understanding of the client’s requirements for each project, it will be the responsibility of the Estimating Manager to select the right system/puc design to use for the estimate. 

Main responsibilities  

• Manual and Software based material take offs will be managed and checked by the estimating manager daily and bid documents will be prepared and sent to the client to highlight our offer from a technical and commercial point of view. 

• Selecting the right projects to offer estimates to in collaboration with the Sales Director and discuss a strategy that would give the business the best chance of success. 
• Working effectively with the engineering teams both face to face and via the telephone ,with the ability to collaborate and come up with ideas being fundamental. 

Desirable skills and experience 

Electrical and/or mechanical knowledge would be an advantage. The candidate will need to understand the construction industry and the process of tendering a project from a range of different sectors such as Healthcare, Residential and Commercial. 

• Proficient use of Excel 
• SAP manufacturing software experience 
• Autocad software experience 

• Bluebeam Software 
• Worked in an estimating role before 
• Worked in contracting or manufacturing previously
